Although walk-ins are welcome, we recommend making an appointment to avoid wait times.
Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?
The only thing you will need for your appointment is a photo ID.
Why come in if I’ve already taken a test at home?
Although most over-the-counter pregnancy tests are accurate, it’s still important to verify with a medical professional. Our tests are lab-certified urine tests that are over 99% accurate and can detect the hCG pregnancy hormone as early as 10 days after conception. We can also schedule an ultrasound to check if the pregnancy is viable and how far along you are.
Can I just get an ultrasound?
We must first confirm your pregnant with our laboratory-quality pregnancy test. Clients may then be scheduled for an ultrasound at a following appointment based on the results of your pregnancy test.
What will your ultrasound tell me?
WCMC performs limited ultrasound to determine the following:
- Gestational age (how far along you are)
- Viability (pregnancy is in the uterus and a fetal heartbeat is detected)
- Single vs. multiple pregnancy (i.e. twins)
We do not reveal the gender of the baby. If any complications are detected, our licensed sonographer will instruct you to seek the appropriate medical care. All sonograms are reviewed by our Center’s Medical Director.
Do you provide prenatal care?
Early prenatal care essential to a healthy pregnancy. It is why we provide prenatal vitamins, however, this should not take the place of prenatal care from a OB/GYN doctor or midwife. We can provide referrals to physicians in our area and can assist you with the process of applying for prenatal coverage through Medicaid.
How are STD tests done?
STD tests are conducted through urine specimen, blood draws, and physical exams. Based on your health assessment, our physician will determine which tests to perform.
How do I know if I need a STD test?
If you have been sexually active, you should get tested. It’s really that simple.
Can I get my results over the phone?
To protect your privacy, we cannot give test results over the phone. An appointment is required to discuss your results with a nurse and to receive the appropriate treatment if your test is positive.
